Study on Treatment Strategies for Diabetic Macular Edema Complicated with Different Stages of Retinopathy

Abstract
Objective To explore treatment strategies for diabetic macular edema complicated with diabetic retinopathy at different stages. Methods Ninety-six patients admitted from January 2023 to January 2025 were selected and divided into a study group and a control group, with 48 cases in each group. The control group received anti-VEGF therapy, while the study group received staged combined treatment, including laser, glucocorticoid, or surgical intervention according to disease stage. Results Visual acuity improvement, reduction of central foveal thickness, and lesion stability in the study group were better than those in the control group, and the recurrence rate was lower. Conclusion Staged comprehensive treatment is more effective in controlling recurrent edema and delaying disease progression, showing high clinical value.
