Application of Thyroid Nodule Calcification in the Ultrasonic Diagnosis of Thyroid Cancer
Journal: Journal of Clinical Medicine Research DOI: 10.32629/jcmr.v7i2.5320
Abstract
Objective: To explore the application of thyroid nodule calcification in the ultrasonic diagnosis of thyroid cancer. Methods: A single-center study was conducted, enrolling 112 patients with thyroid nodules who were pathologically confirmed at our hospital from January 2022 to January 2026. Using pathological results as the reference standard, ultrasound-determined benign or malignant status and key ultrasound features (including margin clarity, blood flow signal, and calcification patterns) were recorded. A descriptive analysis of feature distribution was performed. Results: Ultrasound assessment classified 96 nodules as benign and 16 as malignant. Feature comparison revealed that benign nodules exhibited a higher proportion of well-defined margins, whereas malignant nodules more frequently presented with abundant blood flow signals. Conclusion: The implementation of ultrasound diagnosis for thyroid nodule calcification demonstrates significant clinical application value and is worthy of promotion.
