圣牛与水牛:印度教民族主义的符号征用与达利特的抵抗重构

Abstract

印地语语境中圣牛与水牛的符号分化是印度种姓政治的重要表征之一,但既有研究多聚焦圣牛的符号建构,鲜少剖析二者分化的形成过程以及对水牛符号的种姓意涵与抵抗价值进行挖掘。文章将从符号政治视角出发,结合坎查・伊莱亚的“水牛民族主义”理论,考察圣牛与水牛的符号分化在印度教主流话语和达利特叙事中分别如何被使用。研究发现,这一分化在主流话语中被征用为巩固种姓秩序的政治工具,在达利特叙事中则通过生产性价值体系的建构被转化为文化抵抗的资源。两种使用方式的张力表明,问题的核心不在于“圣牛”与“水牛”符号本身孰高孰低,而在于谁拥有定义“价值”的权力。
