Acupuncture Therapy for Rotator Cuff Injuries: A Comparative Analysis with Conventional Rehabilitation Methods
Journal: Journal of Clinical Medicine Research DOI: 10.32629/jcmr.v5i4.3308
Abstract
This article examines the effectiveness of acupuncture therapy as an adjunct to conventional rehabilitation methods in the treatment of rotator cuff injuries (RCIs). A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining a systematic review of clinical trials and a controlled study with 60 participants to compare the outcomes of acupuncture and conventional rehabilitation. The results demonstrate that acupuncture significantly accelerates pain relief, enhances functional recovery, and improves patient satisfaction compared to conventional rehabilitation. Acupuncture's mechanisms, including pain modulation and tissue repair, suggest its potential to complement traditional therapies. This study highlights acupuncture as a promising adjunctive treatment for RCIs and calls for further research to explore its long-term effects and underlying mechanisms.
