Studied at the Guilin Metallurgical Geology School of Geology in 1973, and taught at the University in 1976; from 1978 to 1982 at the Guilin Institute of Metallurgy and Geology, majoring in geological and mineral exploration; graduated from the Department of Geotectonics and Mineralization, Changsha Institute of Geodesy, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1982. He has taught at the School of Earth Sciences of Guilin University of Technology since graduation, and has served as the director of the teaching and research department for a long time. Discipline leader of Guilin University of Technology, doctoral tutor of Guilin University of Technology and Kunming University of Science and Technology, and famous teacher of Guangxi University. Published 3 monographs, 4 textbooks, and published more than 100 scientific research papers, including more than 60 first authors. He won the second prize of provincial and ministerial level scientific research achievements twice and the third prize once. In 1988, he was awarded the second prize of "Chen Guoda Underground Theory". The project "Construction and Practice of ‘Interest-driven-Practice Through-Strengthening Ability’ Teaching Mode in Basic Geology Education" hosted by the project won the special prize of Guangxi Higher Education Autonomous Region Teaching Achievement Award in 2009.
